| About Us Jim Hobson, certified Luthier by Luthiers International, opened the Fret Shop on May 5, 2003, specializing in convenient, and individualized services for the region. Located at 5 Church Street, in downtown Vernon, NJ, the Fret Shop focuses on repairing fretted instruments, building electric guitars and guitar lessons. All repairs are done on premises by either Jim Hobson or Bill Hobson and include everything from simple string changes to a complete re-fretting service. Hobson electric guitars are hand made right here in our shop. See the "Photos" page for examples of our guitars. We also offer private guitar lessons right here. We currently have two lesson rooms and two different instructors to suit all your needs.
