Classical Strings ____________________________________________________________________________ The Classical Tuning Machine ____________________________________________________________________________ How to tie a Classical bridge Nylon string Classical guitars are a little different than steel string acoustics. First the E, B, & G strings are made of nylon. The D, A, & E are silk core with a silver wrap around it. They are available in "Tie End" & "Ball End". Be sure to purchase the proper type for your guitar. Traditional Classical strings are tied at the bridge and tuners. Ball end strings are NOT tied at the bridge! ____________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________ FRET SHOP 5 CHURCH ST. | This is how to tie at the post (Tuning Machine) end. It's quite simple, yet so many people don't do it. As with acoustic and electric guitars, leave about 2 frets worth of slack in the string before winding. That slack is what gets wound onto the post. Wind the wrap towards the gear of the tuner. Nylon string sets stretch alot when first tuned, so you may have to re-tune several times. |

| For the standard wrap, pull about 3" of string through the tie block. |

| Then bring the string end up and over the tie block, run it under the string and loop it toward the back edge of the tie block. |
